here's a drawing i've been developing (yeah, i'm actually trying to develop ideas these days, instead of leaving everything a one-off). there's some pencil in there, but it wasn't picked up that well. (i need a new scanner. my current one is one of those all-in-ones, yeah). i might be submitting this (or whatever comes of this) for an upcoming show at nucleus... speaking of, one of the pieces that had already been exhibited at nucleus (the water trees one) has been curated into an upcoming show at the korean cultural center (it should be coming up really soon).
anyhow, i spent the day with tiffanie! (who i've known forever, but have never met). we hit up the skirball center for a
saul bass exhibit i was interested in seeing. then we swung by the getty since it was in the neightborhood. then i got a personal tour of the ucla campus. let's see... i discovered that sin is really arnold schwarzenegger as a mermaid, reaffirmed my fright of height, let out some angry asian angst and learned that parking at ucla is... well, expensive. good times...
apparently, the skirball has a no camera policy as i was accosted shortly after this image was taken and had my camera "confiscated." consider this image contraband.
at the getty.
tim hawkinson's uberorgan. at the getty. yeah.
