(no subject)
first things first. i don't know if i've ever mentioned this before, but the soundtrack to the scifi channel miniseries children of dune is perhaps one of the most emotionally moving pieces of music i've ever encountered. just incredibly powerful, especialy the first, third and eighth tracks (summon the worms, house atreides and inama nushif[which i have the lyrics to, if anyone is interested], respectively). if you have the opportunity, check it out.
in any case, my car's hubcaps were stolen around midnight on march 12 (little over a week ago) while, get this, i was on duty at the police department and parked just outside. monday, after the telecommunicator class (which is completely inane), my boss grant comes over to me and says that he has a bead on where my hubs are, but that it'll take a couple of days to reacquire them, and to not ask who actually took them. however, i could tell he really did want to tell, so i got him to confirm the person's initials were "b.b." and he worked for the sheriff's office, which tells me exactly who it was. and yes, it is the person i suspected from the onset of all this, because he had come into dispatch the 12th completely drunk off his ass looking for someone to talk to. he had plenty of time of remove the hubs after he left. oh well. as grant said, now i have some time to plan revenge...though i'm bad at such things. i'm just glad to be getting them back at this point.
also, update to the external hard drive enclosure...it's great! i didn't realize the aluminum housing would shed heat as well as it does, but even now after having been on for several days continuously, it's just mildly warm. its got a nice blue glow indicating power on top, and orange glow indicating disk activity on the bottom. i very much enjoy it :) i'll try and put a picture up eventually.
and right now, i am eagerly anticipating a delivery from amazon.com which contains both star wars episode one and two dvds, as well as the cartoon network's clone wars miniseries dvd (official site). *bounces* i hope it arrives today, even though i won't be able to watch any of them until after work tomorrow.
