Hey everyone! I translated an interview with Yoshihiro Togashi from a magazine I bought in Japan. There's some questions in there we've seen him answer before, but also some interesting new stuff, so I thought I'd share. ^^
Sounds like the upcoming events are going to be epic, but honestly, that makes me a tad bit worried. If the story so far really has only been a prologue of what's to come (I interpret this in a "the most exciting part of the story is yet to come" way), the rest is probably not going to be any shorter than the Chimera Ant arc, or else it would feel weirdly rushed and disproportional. And given Togashi's track record so far, that means it may very well be at least another half-decade before the see the conclusion to the manga... I really do wonder what he's got in store for us, though. I always thought the way Ging said the world as they knew it was only a small part of the whole would have made a very nice ending, since that bigger world would have been left up to the reader's imagination.
The tidbit about the movie's setting is interesting, too. I've always been really fond of these "alternative way the story could have gone" settings. I assume the second movie is going to be based on one of those alternative scripts as well. Makes me wonder how many there are!
And damn, Togashi sure knows how to make the fangirls happy. It's pretty much the best answer he could have given without actually affirming or denying anything, haha. (I also didn't expect someone to actually ask him a question like that, so kudos to the interviewer)
April fools!=) Sorry, that's just me trolling. orz; Togashi never actually said anything about the boyfriends issue, despite it being a rumor on the internet... ^^;;
