So, the first three performances went well. I went to a cast party Friday night at an actor's house and I had a lot of fun. We left at like 4:30 when the police showed up (we were being loud :/). I ended up crashing at Fenway House, an MIT Independent Living Group. They have a really nice townhouse in Fenway. I slept in their library.
On Saturday, I went to a MITES Alum thing where we talked to the current MITES students and told them to not slack off and come to MIT and such. There was this one girl there who totally TOTALLY looks like she would be a Randomite. I offered to take her for a tour of East Campus sometime. I don't know if it's going to happen, but we'll see. Also, I talked to the head TA of MITES and it seems as if she isn't doing all that well. Hopefully she gets in. I would hate to be like, "Look at all of this cool stuff here!" And then her not to get into MIT. :(
Also, today I LARPed for the first time! It was really really awesome! It was sci-fi themed, where there are mafia families that make pizza. I loved the character that I got! I was an alien, and the adopted son of a human mob family. I would say more, but I think someone who does guild stuff (Kristan cough cough) reads my journal, and the game will be run again, and you shouldn't talk about your character with people who are going to do it in the future and yadda yadda. Anyway, the point is, I wish the game was longer, because he was really fun to play. Maybe I could write lame fan-fiction about it? I could steal the game's story and actually write it out into a short story? Eh, I probably won't..
I plan on doing Assassin's Guild (MIT's LARPing group) stuff again. But, I think this one resonated with me particularly because 1.) I was a cute emo alien wearing pinstripes! Awww!! 2.) I wasn't human, which was cool. 3.) The twist that I found out at the end of my game was INCREDIBLY funny. If I was more in character, I wouldn't have done it, but, it was just sooo lolzy!!
In non-fun news, I need to make a presentation for my lab's group meeting on Tuesday. I thankfully have it mostly finished. I just need to, you know, practice it.
