I have unwisely left my Coldfire trilogy on the wrong side of the national border, and so I can't browse the books for reference. I'll remedy this unfortunate state of affairs on my Easter vacation, but meanwhile I would be most grateful if someone could help me a bit. It's about the hell.
In the Crown of Shadows, when Damien goes to the hell and negotiates with the Unnamed -- what was the exact reason Tarrant got his 30 days reprieve? His past evil deeds, I seem to remember. Was there any clarification, though? Given the nature of the Unnamed, it seems strange that one could negotiate with it/them like that at all.
