It’s my family.
What more can I say?
Fine.
It’s a picture of the family as it once was - whole and together. My mom was alive. Sam was a baby. Dad was dad, not the marine Sam and I grew up with. I wish Sam could have known dad before the fire, I think he would have liked him.
I guess the picture means a lot to me because my whole life has been about family and holding what I have left together and it’s nice just to look back and remember. I guess it also helps to remember what we’ve been fighting so hard for all these years.
The past makes up a lot of our present and future but looking back and wishing for what was is pointless. It gets you nowhere and personally I’m thankful for what I have right now because it’s a lot more than most people.
We might be fucked in a lot of ways but we’re family and blood’s thicker than water.
