Which hypothetical scenario would you choose and why?
1. You are married by age 30 or 35 or whatever age feels optimal to you to a person that you think the world of. A short time after this you have whatever your desired number of children is with said individual (even if its zero), and said children are wonderfully healthy, intelligent, and attractive. You stay married till death at a comfortably old age. As for your career, you hold a steady, fairly well-paying 9-5 job that generally interests you your entire life but in which you never rise to a high level and never make any really lasting contributions to the field.
2. You hold your dream job. Not only do you hold your dream job but you're absolute badass at it. You make a salary 2 standard deviations above the norm, youre internationally known for what you do (either through people having seen or experienced your work or maybe because you wrote a famous book about it), you help teach one or more other people that go on to be extremely good at what you do, and you're remembered for decades after your death. Maybe you even save lives (human or animal) somehow. On the other hand, you never marry. Not only do you not marry, all of the relationships you ever enter into seem to fizzle by the time you hit the one year mark. You have plenty of friends of both genders, but romantically nothing ever seems to hold together for lots of different reasons.
I realize that both of these are both extremely vague and contrived. I'm employing fiat here.

On a totally unrelated subject, does anyone know if there's a way to see recently-updated friends on the new facebook friends tab? I can't seem to find a way and I'm going into withdrawal.
