Hobbies & Fun Stuff

Nutcracker (NAC) - Every year I hesitate to buy tickets, because I’ve seen it so often, but the Royal Winnipeg performance is stunning, so I never regret it. I went with my mother this year because she was down for my birthday.

A Christmas Carol (NAC) - This was beautifully staged and acted. Nice use of period carols. Gothic-style setting with inspired lighting.  We were actually going to the dress rehearsal, so the tickets were cheaper, but it was open seating.  Lots of choice, though, and we managed great seats at the front of the balcony.  I'd love to do it that way again next time there's a play that interests me.  (The one in January is a depressing German one that I saw in highschool, so I'm not sure I'll go to it).

Sassy Beads - I went to an introductory session at Sassy Beads with Anne. It was $31, which wasn’t bad for an evening’s entertainment, and two bracelets, a necklace and a pair of earrings. We may do one of the more advanced classes in the new year.

I Love You - Now Change (OLT) - The friend with whom I usually go to OLT, cancelled. I was so pleased that another friend was able to use the ticket. I hadn’t been too hopeful because it was the Saturday before Christmas.  It was hilarious, and all the more enjoyable for the company.
