When Mac saw the bruises on Danny’s face and arms, he became very angry. How dare someone touch and harm what was his? Danny tried to calm him down, saying it was part of the job. Mac didn’t really care. He was going to get her gun and shoot whoever hurt Danny. He wasn’t surprised that Danny didn’t exactly like that plan. Once again Mac didn’t really care. He couldn’t protect Clair; he would be damned if he didn’t do anything and everything in his power to protect Danny. Danny made a last ditch effort to stop him by pointing out that he couldn’t protect Danny if he was in jail. He put his gun back in its holster. Damn Danny and his logic.

He couldn’t sleep. He hadn’t been able to sleep since Danny was shot and put in a wheelchair. Every time he closed his eyes he saw the blood on his hands as he pressed them to Danny’s stomach. He always woke up in a cold sweat, hands automatically reaching out for Danny. Most of the time Danny would stay dead to the world in a deep sleep and not notice what Mac was doing. Occasionally Danny would stir from his sleep but he would soon fall back asleep after a few moments of Mac stroking his hair. Mac would spend the rest of the night watching Danny sleep. His heart told him that as long as he would watch Danny nothing would happen to the man. His brain told him that he was insane for thinking that and he eventually would have to stop watching Danny. He liked what his heart told him better.

When Danny left the force and the lab, he became a coach for a baseball team. Leaving wasn’t exactly his choice, but when push came to shove his chose his relationship with Mac over his job. He didn’t regret that choice.

When he started coaching he remembered just how much he loved the game. He kind of expected to feel some kind of regret or remorse. He didn’t realize how much he missed being around the game until he got back into it.

Mac made it to every game he could to cheer him on. A lot of the time Stella and Flack would join him. After what happened to Jen it was good to see him out and looking normal again. Today the entire lab was there to cheer his team on.

Danny had been with Lindsey when her water broke. After he called the paramedics he called Lindsey’s husband and Mac. Obviously he called Lindsey’s husband because he should know that his daughter was about to enter the world. He called Mac because he was most defiantly going to be late for their dinner date. He wasn’t going to leave Lindsey’s side until her husband got there. He held her hand, letting her squeeze it when the contractions became too much for her. He tried to relax her by cracking his never old Montana jokes. When they reached the hospital Mac and Lindsey’s husband were already waiting. After giving Lindsey a kiss on the forehead, Danny joined Mac in the waiting room. When Danny sat down Mac twined their fingers together and squeezed.
“One day…”

Title: Butterfly

He was never ever going to go out for drinks with Flack and Stella again. Only would a night out with them turn into him getting a tattoo of a butterfly on his shoulder. At least he wasn’t the only one suffering. Flack walked away with a tattoo of a bull’s eye on his ass. Stella walked away with the pictures.

Danny wasn’t even sure how they convinced him to get a tattoo. Ever since he was a kid he never wanted one. Maybe it was because he knew if you joined the Tanglewood boys you had to get inked. Compared to that tattoo maybe a butterfly wasn’t that bad. At least it was black and not some chicky color. He didn’t think Stella could be that mean.

Now how the hell was he going to explain this to Mac?

Title: Champagne
Fandom: CSI: NY
Characters: Mac/Danny
Prompt: 9-Champagne

Rating: PG

Warnings: None really

He had never been that fond of champagne. It was just something he never acquired the taste for. Even at weddings he never drank it (except for Lindsey’s under penalty of death from Stella. Nothing scared him more than a chick with a gun. Plus Stella knew how to get rid of evidence.)

But with Mac…things were different. He wanted to try all those fancy things he never really liked before. For some reason he thought Mac liked those kind of things. He wanted to be the kind of guy worth Mac’s time. If liking all this expensive crap is what it took then so be it.

Danny didn’t know what was going on. One moment he and Mac were walking home from dinner; then the next moment a man had a gun in their faces asking for money. He apparently was one of the few people in the neighborhood that didn’t know they were cops.

Mac went into action trying to take the man down. You just didn’t stick a gun in a cop’s face; especially a cop that is a former Marine. The two men wrestled on the ground, the gun in between them. Danny screamed Mac’s name when he heard the gun go off, feeling like his had been punched in the gut.

He breathes a sigh of relief when Mac got up, the man hand cuffed. He didn’t get why Mac looked at him with such concern, almost looked like he was scared. Mac’s voice seemed to be far away when he suddenly felt dizzy, bringing his hand up to see it covered with blood. But…Mac wasn’t hurt.

Danny looked down to see a growing wet spot of red on his shirt.

Oh.
