Politics

Part of me wants to rant and seethe and generally be the same angry overpoliticized person I have been since the age of, oh say, 14. I've been on both sides of the fencee, and currently place myself so far from it that I'm not sure I'm in the same field anymore.

The other part is bored with this song and wishes my radio picked up more than two stations playing the same song since, for the most part, the two parties are identical. Where they differ is all the hot button, emotional issues that haven't changed in my lifetime thus far, and I really don't expect them to change before I pass on into the great compost heap.

I'm tired of being fed the same lines of BS, I'm tired of candidates who flip flop on their principles more frequently then fish on land, and I'm tired of the rich and priveleged deciding what's best for those of us who aren't. I'll vote because I think it's my duty as a patriotic American to say something, even if the only one to hear it is the tree falling in the woods.

I want real change, not faux change from the right (now with hot MILF window dressings to hide the fact that we're selling you the same guy you already bought twice) or the left (now with a minority candidate who reminds us of the vocal stylings of King Jr. and Kennedy without any of the fortitude - at least not that I've seen yet). I want to live in a country I can be proud of, not because "WE"RE #1," but because we're decent human beings helping out other decent human beings (not that I really believe this most days; either, but if I give it up completely then I may as well die.)
