Into the warlock's clenches.

We had worked our way through the extensive Los Angeles sewer system and had found that the warlock, Cyvus Vail, who had done the spell on Connor and was the key to getting his memories altered, once more, to where he isn't so explosive and volatile...lived in a mansion in Brentwood ( Read more... )

“Hey, Cordy, I want to hug you and oh yeah, there’s a demon over there. We should pick up the sword, probably and kill him. I just don’t feel like it.”

On it champ, I thought, but wanted to take the champ part back as all he wanted to do was hug me. The first hug was nice, now, we need to take care of the bad guys and get Connor fixed up while there is still time.

He went to hug me again and I pushed him away, seeing the surprise and the hurt in his eyes as I picked up the sword and sliced through the demons neck about five seconds later.

Exhausted here from glowing, but does Angel offer any support? No. He just looks at me wide-eyed while Vail keeps on talking.

Vail babbled about how Connor was going to have such a fine life and it was a pity that he had to be taken out of his new life. That it was a pity that Angel reneged on his deal with the Senior Partners.

“Yeah, he reneged because all of his friends were gunned down by a madman, but while we are on the subject, you’re going to do another spell to give Connor some peace…aren’t you?”

I held the sword up and watched the expression on his face change, as the blade threatened his neck.

She is such a goddess. Now, she’s threatening Vail, who seems as sweet as a genie, standing there, holding the respirator, wide-eyed. Putz. He’s supposed to be this big tough warlock and here he is, reduced to a babbling, wide-eyed fool because of my baby’s glow.

It fits, I guess, because look at him…he’s so tiny and frail.

I walked closer to Cordy, but holding that sword, I didn’t get too close to her, because she’s at work right now, which I really wish that she wasn’t, because I feel like grabbing her in my arms and kissing her for hours.

“Yeah, he reneged because all of his friends were gunned down by a madman, but while we are on the subject, you’re going to do another spell to give Connor some peace…aren’t you?”

Oh yeah, Connor…that’s right. We need to help Connor.

“Yeah, my son is all filled with rage, Vail. He’s tied up right now because that’s all that we could do to keep him from running around all crazy. The rage, I don’t understand where he gets it from, Vail. Honestly, he doesn’t get it from his father…”

I looked at Angel, briefly taking my eyes off of Vail, who listened to everything that Angel said as if they are best pals or something.

Yeah, note to self, leave the glow at the door unless only surrounded by evil beings because Angel saying that he has no rage and going on with this disgusting little warlock…bullcrap and the latter, something that I never want to see again.

Vail started in about how Angel has always had a lot of rage and that the Senior Partners respect that and then again about Connor, but I was lost on the whole Senior Partners/Vail angle.

“Okay, Vail, yeah, we get it, your work with Connor was great, and you’re about to do more great work with Connor. You’re going to magically erase the hate from him…”

He looked up like he was free and clear of the calm, though and I brought the sword up, ready to swing it and Angel, also suddenly seemed better, thank God, and grabbed at his respirator.

It was like ten minutes were lost, but I saw the dead demon on the floor and realized that Vail was no longer holding us. I also saw that Cordy was about to rip his head off with her sword and that Vail was ready to use some magic’s.

“Okay, Vail, yeah, we get it, your work with Connor was great, and you’re about to do more great work with Connor. You’re going to magically erase the hate from him…”

Vail seemed like he wasn’t going to play ball with us now, so I grabbed his respirator.

“Don’t even think about it, Vail. There’s no way you can try anything before I kill you, so what Cordy said just now is how this is going to play out. You promise to do a spell on Connor and you get to live, otherwise, you lose your breathing and then your head in about two seconds…”

He said okay about four times and said that he would do it and keep the spell as long as we did something for him, first.

He proposed that we could watch him change Connor’s memories again, make him more tame and that he would do it for free, as long as Connor came back and killed Shajhan for him.

“I’ll kill him right now. Just do the spell…”

Vail, disgusting troll, laughed as Angel said that he would kill this Shajhan guy.

He then said if it was that simple, that he would have killed Shajhan himself, already.

Then Angel said something about the prophecy and I still didn’t know who this Shajhan guy was and the prophecy, if I remember correctly, had something to do with Wesley taking Connor, but I’m not sure.

“Will somebody tell me what the freaking prophecy is, already before I start slicing with this big sword in my hands!”

Vail explained the prophecy. Only Connor could kill Shajhan. He explained that Connor was taken by the recently departed Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, which made me want to slice his head off again, but I didn’t for Connor’s sake, because Shajhan, who sounded like a piece of work, had changed the prophecy and now I remembered it all.

Eventually, and it seemed to take forever, Vail did the spell and we didn’t know if it worked, but Angel, not taking thinking, sliced his head off anyway and both of us looked at the vase with Shajhan in it.

His head rolled to the floor and we left.

“Great, Angel. We don’t know if Connor is any better right now. What if you just killed him for now reason?”

He looked at me like he hadn’t thought of that and I shrugged, thinking, yeah, not thinking all that great today, are you now, champ? We rushed back into the sewers and started towards the Hyperion. Hopefully, now, the sun will be down so I can talk to him and look at that amazing face, instead of talking to a blanket on the way home.

Hopefully, the sun is down, so I can talk to Angel and look at him and not a blanket and hopefully, Connor is tame and sensible and sweet.
