The way that he power-dropped the vamp that he just staked over his knee was makin’ me want him more and more and I had to focus on the fact that we were tryin’ to get information about where this Xavier asshole lived so that we could get to B’ before it’s too late.
I pummeled a vamp comin’ at me, feelin’ stronger, just about then I ever have, hittin’ another in the ribs and feelin’ the same fire behind the punch and watchin’ this one fall to the ground, clutchin’ at his ribs like the last one.
I am on to somethin’ here with the goin’ to the body and not just head-huntin’, which is also fun. The body shots stop anyone and I have a mean right hand workin’. Another came at me, and I quickly picked up the second vamp who’s ribs I had cracked and used his face as a shield before tossin’ him, as he yelped in more pain, on the one who had just attacked me.
Rage getting’ to me, liftin’ me, I charged both of them and jammed my stake through broken rib number two vamps back and ended up stakin’ both with one shot. My man was handlin’ the last vamp and would definitely have no trouble. As for me, well, I found myself movin’ towards the non-combatative vamp in the back, who cowered as I approached.
This last one was the toughest of the group, easily.
I noticed that faith had killed two with one staking and was now approaching the meek vamp in the back of the crypt. I wanted to watch her in action with him, except that my business wasn’t done yet.
This last one reminded me of a warrior that I might have faced off against on the streets of Brooklyn when I was human and a teenager. He was powerful, with biceps that were impressive, and he had connected with me on a couple of shots and they didn’t tickle.
He fought smart, which was surprising considering the company that he seemed to hang with and I assumed as I took control and got him in a chokehold, taking him down to the ground and bashing his skull against the floor, that he was their leader.
I gave him a chance to tell me where Xavier lives, but he refused and I buried my stake into his back, looking up to see Faith moving in on Mr. Meek.
He was reachin’ his hands out as if he wasn’t bad, as if he wasn’t a threat to me if I turned my back on him and I could see that he probably wasn’t.
He seemed like a teenager and as kinda cute and probably got turned by some vamp hussy against his will. I wondered if that were true and if it were, where she was.
“I’m gonna guess here, man…you were sired by some vamp bitch who hangs with this crowd, only she’s not here right now?”
He nodded as Justin stood next to me, and then he hit us with the story of being sired by one of Xavier’s favorite girls, someone that he sleeps with quite often when he’s not sleepin’ with and then killin’, human girls. He told us that these were all Xavier’s legionnaires, but that he can’t stand how brutal they can be usually and then told us where Xavier was and that right now, he had a slayer with him and was goin’ to make her his eternal…
Not while I live and breathe.
He told us about Xavier’s mojo and that they were at his castle on the ile de la cite right now.
I turned and let this vamp live. Sure, he might be a killer some day but somethin’ told me that he wasn’t that type of vamp.
“I’m sorry to have to do this, because you seem like you wouldn’t go out and kill right now, but that could all change. You know it and I know it. Besides, you won’t miss this life and before you die, I want to thank you for your information. You can die knowing that you’ve helped the world today and that we will take Xavier down for you.”
I staked him hard and fast so he didn’t know what hit him and when I turned, I saw Faith looking at me.
I pulled her by the arm and rushed out with her. The ile de la cite. I didn’t know exactly where it was, but it had to be the island in the middle of the Seine.
Faith gave me hell about killing that poor, innocent vampire.
“There’s no such thing as an innocent vampire unless he has a soul, Faith and I don’t have to explain that to you. He would have eventually killed. It was just a matter of time and now that won’t happen. Now, we got good news about Buffy, potentially, but how is he keeping her under control? A love spell? If that’s the case, those are brutal. I’ve seen it before while in Romania. Some gypsy cast a spell on a man to love her out of spite and she ended up being killed by him because of his level of desire for her. Buffy like that could be a load to handle, especially if Xavier is as tough as his reputation is. You might need to use that devastating right to the gut on Buffy. I’ll take out Xavier. Are you ready for this?”
I couldn’t believe that my studly had killed that cute and weak ass vamp and said as much to him as we ran deeper into the city towards the river.

“I’m ready for it. Buffy might not be as fragile as those vamps were, but if I break her ribs too, then I’m sure that she’ll forgive me when she’s back in control of her thoughts. Still, that vamp might have turned out to be like you and you killed him…Yeah, my rights were pretty devastating in there. You and me are sparrin’ when we get back to Seaside…And as for Xavier, you’d better be careful. I’ve seen Willow work the magic’s, man, if he’s anywhere near as good as she is, then it won’t be about fightin’. I bet you can take any vamp, Angel and Spike included…in a fight, but if he puts the whammy on you, then I might be in danger from all three of you. We gotta be careful in there, baby.”
He gave me a funny look, which I didn’t understand, but before I knew it, we were passin’ tourists in the dark of the night and passin’ seriously beautiful buildings too and I’m not even into that shit.

She jumped around from topic to topic like she owned the attention span of a kid in kindergarten and it was adorable.
“Check on you and I sparring, except I’m wearing a flap-jacket on the rib cage if we do. As for Xavier, I know what to expect, but I’m of the opinion that we don’t announce ourselves to them. We hit them with a sneak attack and take Xavier out with a quick stake before he knows what hit him. Buffy is under a spell…or if she is, then we’ll need to contain her without hurting her. I don’t know magic’s, but they sometimes fade, and sometimes need to be reversed, don’t they? He probably hit her with the major whammy, so we’ll need to find out how to reverse the spell…”
Faith seemed to like the sneak attack thing and as we swam, I found myself wanting her in the worst way, the water making me feel so good that it reminded me of how good that she made me feel.
Once on the isle, we passed homes and finally found a castle at the end of the row, against the shoreline that had to be his.
“I say we use the windows and are leaping ability.”
She looked at me and soared upward, three floors and looked at me, as I joined her. I could hear the action of what sounded like a third person in there being tortured.
We broke two bars on the window with our bare hands and slithered in. No alarms, if he had any.
