Spike, alone.

Leah, Melissa and I, mere minutes after passion, were interrupted by Angel, who caught us in the act of snuggling and told us to watch his son as he and Cordelia sought a way to make him less volatile. He told us that Connor was in the basement, behind a closed door, chained to a bed ( Read more... )

“Holding grudges now, Spike, blaming me for the chip that was in your head? Bet you want to put a beating on me now, don’t you?”

Had been willing to do a number on him, but bloody well wasn’t worth it.

“You’re not worth my time, cardboard, not with Buffy probably in Paris or bloody Brussels and with the sun shining bright. Besides, you’ll just have your slayer honies come up here if I were to beat you down, which you bloody deserve for how you treated me, anyway…”

Turned around, went towards the kitchen and changed tactics. This wasn’t going to get Buffy back. In the kitchen, I looked for something strong, but the strongest thing was water. No bloody thank you.

Walked back out to Soldier boy, who was stewing.

“Bygones to the Sunnydale days, Finn. I was different. I didn’t have a soul and probably deserved some of your hatred, but let’s bloody focus on now. We need to put the cavalry together. You and the girls need to fly to Paris and go after Xavier. Has a bloody place in the island on the Seine, he does. Where’s Angel and vision girl, by the by?”

The same old Spike, I thought, as he walked away. He was this powerful being and even though he had his powers back now, he still whined and probably was lost without Buffy…with Buffy being in trouble and now, he was lashing out at anyone that he saw and in this case, it just happens to be me.

Then he came back in and what he said made me change my tune.

“I know about it because Cordelia had a vision of it, Spike. Angel and Cordelia are going to try to find a way to help his kid, who Leah and Melissa, who you just saw, are now watching. As for going to help Buffy, I wanted to do the same thing…Melissa, Leah and I go, but Faith and Justin went…”

“Did Angel tell them where to go in Paris?”

I asked the question and then thought about what he had said. Faith going was a good thing. After Faith, Buffy and I had been together, I knew that Buffy and Faith were no longer rivals and that confirmed it, without a shadow of a doubt.

Faith is going after Buffy, but she is going with Justin? Justin?

“Been gone a while, so I realize that I’m missing something here, but who in the name of Zeus’ pale crack is Justin? Is he going to be a liability towards Faith helping Buffy in Paris? Xavier’s strong and uses the bloody mojo. Can’t see why she would bring somebody who might slow her down with her.”

Now, wanted to risk the bleeding sun again, and drive to the airport.

“Did Angel tell them where to go in Paris?”

I didn’t actually know if he did or not. That was a good question. Spike seemed to know so it fit that Angel would know since the two of them used to kill all of Europe together.

“I don’t know. Faith and Justin were gone before I saw them and Angel only gave me some of the details before he left with Cordelia.

I was suddenly a little more worried then I had been a few minutes ago, even though until Buffy was safe, and I knew it, I was bound to be on edge, anyway.

This is what I expected from Spike. He was up in arms and ready to do anything and I agreed. He and I would always care about Buffy, although him probably more then me now.

“I wouldn’t worry about that, Spike. I don’t know all of the details, but I know that Justin is a vamp and like you and Angel, he has a soul. I also know that Faith seemed to like being around him from what I saw and he around her…”

Spike’s reaction was interesting.

And I’m thinking, what am I supposed to do until then? Knew I should have bloody hopped on a plane to Paris down in Hot-bloody-lanta.

A vamp? A vamp with a soul?

“How in the bloody hell did he get a soul? Is he American, British, bloody what?”

I had all of these questions and then there was he and Faith getting comfortable. Not that I had a problem with that, but Buffy, Faith and I made music and now she was moving on to another vamp with a soul who I had to meet before I believed that, which meant that if he didn’t have soul, then Faith and Buffy were in danger.

“We bloody have to do something. I can’t just sit here, Finn, doing bloody nothing, useless as a log when Buffy and Faith might be in danger.”

He sat down, I sat down…there was about to be a conversation.
