When Cordelia had the vision about Buffy being in trouble, and when I reasoned that it was Xavier, based on her description and the magic's being used, I thought to myself, that this couldn't possibly be happening nor could it be happening at a worse time

I left that one alone. I could have said that most women weren’t as bright as you, Cordy…except that I didn’t want to sound sexist, or kiss her ass too much. Though, kissing her ass sounded appealing to me, literally.
“I think that the Hyperion plan is perfect and it’ll work, you know. Good sewer access, lots of demons to muscle around for information, so I think that we are good there, but what about Connor? I feel so bad that he’s chained to that bed. I feel bad that faith hauled off and decked him like that and I feel so much concern that Riley and those two slayers…uh…Melissa and the other one will have their hands full with him. Do you think that this is going to work, baby? I mean, what if this Vail guy is so powerful with the magic’s, that he puts the whammy on us or something?”
I was suddenly unhappy being confined.
“I know that we can easily get the information that we need, but is it going to matter? I don’t know, Cordy. I mean, Vail could stop us with his magic’s, or he could be willing to work with us. I don’t know. I’ll be willing to pay a price, if it isn’t too extreme, in order for him to release Connor, and I’m willing to kill him, if he doesn’t play ball…”
This was completely forgetting about Buffy, for the moment, who I was more worried about then Connor, really. With Connor, we had a little control of the situation. That couldn’t be said for Buffy, over there, potentially at Xavier’s mercy, if that’s who kidnapped her.

That part worried me. Angel talking about making deals and my knowing him, I just knew that he would do anything to help Connor.
“Angel, we’re almost there, but just promise me that you won’t make any crazy deals with this Vail guy. He’s probably a creep, first of all and second of all, I know how far you’ll go for Connor. If we have to, we can just kill him. That’ll be better then making any deals like the one that you made before with Wolfram and Hart and the whole taking over thing…”
I pulled off to our exit.

She drove a little further, then stopped. I didn’t have my keys on me, but I burst out of the car, covering myself with the blanket and then kicked the door in. I heard Cordy telling somebody that I had a really bad sunburn and was trying to avoid making it worse and then she followed me in and thankfully, I saw her face again for the first in three hours.
“Cordy, let’s just find the guy first. After that, I’ll figure out what to do, but until we know how much this Vail guy is willing to play ball, then we are getting slightly ahead of ourselves.”
I started towards the basement door that led into the sewer and she followed. Before I opened the door, she put her hand on me and asked me if I had any plans and if we should grab some weapons.
I wasn’t thinking and looked at her like I was a dumbass…as she would call me. Broad swords for both of us, we went downstairs.
“Cordy, stay behind me, and let me handle this.”
She gave me a look like she was going to smack me, and then, of course, she did. We rushed into the sewers, Buffy on my mind, Connor on my mind, Cordy’s safety on my mind and deals and potential violence on my mind.
