The drive here had been tense, and Leah was quiet. When we arrived at our ’new home’ in Seaside, Leah pretty much got out of the car, took a look at Justin, then watched as Justin removed Connor, who was still unconscious, from the car, and walked towards Riley, standing on the porch.
I felt kinda bad, you know? I mean, she seemed to like Connor for some reason, and he seemed to get his memories back and fed her this line that Justin was goin’ to kill all three of us, and she seemed to believe him, which led to the fight that led me to put her down. I felt bad about it, but it had to be done.
She walked in with Riley, one of many walking studs around here, and Angel and Cor rushed towards us. Angel was freaked out and I could tell that this could easily be a volatile sitch.
Angel didn’t know Justin and though they both had souls, I didn’t know if they would be able to tell, and since Justin pulled Connor out of the car and just sorta held him standing up, while Angel rushed to him, I could see that this could lead to some bad places.
Justin was a total muffin and he was strong and on our side and as I learned on the plane, wicked equipped, so I wasn’t goin’ to let anything happen here, but I wasn’t exactly goin’ to jack up Angel because of it, either, because, let’s face it, Angel had always been there for me and I would always respect him, even if what he did to Connor was kinda questionable, at best.
Angel studied Justin and that looked at Connor, before lookin’ at Cor and then me. He definitely wanted to know what had happened, but seemed to know, somehow, and Cor wicked seemed to know, that something might happen.
“Angel’s let’s just get Connor inside, get his head propped on a pillow and I’ll explain everything that went down in Cleveland and at the airport in San Francisco. But, when we lay him down, you might want to keep him tied up, because let’s just say that he seems to have the big hate on for vampires with souls, as Justin and all of us learned at the airport, here. He got his memories back, I would say, though neither you nor Cor seem to be too surprised about all of that, which opens up a whole new set of questions…”
Angel looked at Justin, as he picked Connor up and carried him towards the front door. He was freaked by hearin’ that Justin had a soul, but he would be caught up on everything as best as we knew it before too long.
Like a parade, Cor followed Angel and Connor, while Justin and I made our way past Leah, Riley and some other girl. I quickly introduced myself as Faith and she shook my hand, though she looked a little sick. She introduced herself as Melissa and smiled, as she sat next to Riley, who was next to Leah.
I gripped Justin’s hand and squeezed it as we went into another area of the home that I didn’t know existed. It was a basement and it was fully furnished, almost like a play room. It was a pity that Angel was takin’ the kid in here, because this would have been the perfect place for Justin and I to really get to know each other, if you know what I’m sayin’ and I was wicked horny for him right now, but I knew that things had t be discussed first. A question popped into my mind, immediately, as Angel lay Connor down.
“I know you have questions, Angel, but first, just tell me that B and Spike are okay and that they made out good with getting the Atlanta slayer.”
