Father's Day!

Jun 19, 2005 18:35

Hello everyone. Welcome to the six o' clock news...I'm your host, Blythe Factor, and here's what happened today....

So, Happy Father's Day to all those dads and grandpas out there...which, I think, is just a tad redundant, since, you have to be a dad to be a grandpa, but, whatever...Happy Day to you all the same. It's tough being a dad. So here's a day to sit back, relax, watch tv, and read cards.

My family is a bit weird. "Just left of center" is what my aunt calls us. And I mean my immediate family. (Although, come to think of it, my extended family is pretty wierd too.) We don't really do "normal" stuff. In stead of being like "Oh! Let's go mini-golfing!" or "Let's go to a play!" or "Let's go to the mall!", there's stuff like "Oh! Let's go to the cemetary!". Seriously. My mom said that today. And we were all like "Yeah!". ........ And on Father's Day too! Wierd...but it was kind of an alright time. We walked around for quite a bit and there's this old water pump at this one that I like to play with, so I did that. My sister has been sick so she was all grumpy and threw a fit and accidently locked us out of the car. Good thing that my dad kept the window open a crack.

Earlier, we had gone to church at Good Shepard. We missed the only, and 9:00 service at our church so we went to the 10:45 service at Good Shepard. The sermon was good. It was about not having to be afraid. Then, we went to Taco Bell for lunch. Afterwards, we raided the dollar store where I got some pretty pens that I am currently wearing clipped to my pants, making me feel like a total and completedork *unclips pens and sets them, ashamedly, on the desk*. After, we went to this gravel road where my parents, when they were dating, used to park thier car and "talk", or at least that's what they told us... But there were these mullberry trees there. I love mullberries! So we picked some to make a pie later on.

Overall, I think that it's been a pretty good and pretty quiet day.

SRFHL: SUN! Most of us have heard that being in the sun for too long and soaking up all those UV rays can cause skin cancer, not to mention sunburn. But that doesn't mean that we have to avoid the sun altogether! Five to Fifteen minutes of sun a day, three days a week can be extremely beneficial to your health. Vitamin D runs rampant in the sun's rays and this particular vitamin can help your muscles and bones grow strong! It can also put you in a good mood (according to some studies) and it may stop attack cells from damaging the immune system while it's still maturing. So soak up that sun! But, rememebr, if you're going to be outside for a long period of time (even if it's cloudy!) wear sunscreen and drink lots of water!

Bye! -B
