Old Comfort Foods
So I was being bad and nostalgic. I went to the grocery store to get some snackie snacks.. and I came across my old Jay's Jalapeno Potato Chips. I remembered my brother and I used to eat them all the time. I LOVED them, and so did he.
I got so excited I could hardly wait to get home to open up the bag, so I opened them up in the car and they smelled exactally the same as they did ten years ago. Damn it took me back.
I quickly reached in and grabbed the chip out of the bag. I stuck it in my mouth.. only to be disappointed. It's not the same. I can't explain it, but it wasn't the same chip that I remember enjoying. It was such a disappointment. I don't understand why things have to change, maybe they stayed the same, but my taste buds changed. Maybe they've been getting their potato supplies from a differnt location, and the chip quality has changed. I don't know. They're still good, but I could have eaten only one. I did eat a couple more chips, but like regular potato chips with me they just sit there after that. I'll eventually get back to them. *sigh*
