1. Sakura obviously A) has broken brains because "Let's die together" =/= "Happy future for team seven" and B) is hated by Kishimoto. Seriously, at this point she has no consistency as a character. I'm not even upset that she never gets to do kickass things in the canon. That'd be acceptable, if somewhat un-feminist feeling, if that was just her character... but her motives and train of thought is so all over the place.
2. Oh, snap.
Evidence You Cannot See (Repeated Ten Times just got canon-shafted. Not particularly surprising considering it is about a lot of characters and is very specifically about Sasuke, but gotta say a little surprised on how it got shafted. Sasuke, after like, 100 chapters, suddenly wants his brother's eyes? Talk about out of the blue. But then again, all I need to do is look at Sakura to be reminded that logic or emotional drive has no place in Kishimoto's writing.
3. Hmmm, I am really hoping the ending means the attention is gonna shift away from Sasuke and Moony Madara for a bit. I want to see what happens to Hokage!Kakashi, to Karin (will a meet up for Team Hawk be in the offing?) and, am even interested in snake!Kabuto, though what purpose to the plot that baddie could have now is a bit of a mystery to me....
1. Yay for Soul covering for Maka over the book issue, by pointing out he's a death scythe now, so it doesn't matter.
2. That index dude's head.... his head is something I've seen in a library before, like before everything became all computer and barcodes...it is something I just can't remember what. I want to say something that they kept library cards on or that they used to stamp the book's slip things...something. Argh! Why can't I remember.
3. Gender-bend! Ah! Awesome!
My favorite's are Tsubaki's and Blackstar's. Blackstar's reaction was funny. At first I thought that Tsubaki must have a brother complex because she looks a lot like him, but on rereading the chapter... Blackstar and Tsubaki look like each other. Think about it. Blackstar got tits like Tsubaki's and she got really built arms like Blackstar's are drawn! Though she got a deep voice, and my understanding is that Blackstar in the anime is voiced by a girl. Um, I'm pretty nuteral on shipping the two, truth be told, but that is actually pretty funny, I think.
Liz looks like Adachi from Megane-chan to Yankee-kun. Kilik is cute, and his partner's aren't shown, but then until they powered up I had no clue what gender they even were at first. Patti looks like a cross between a rapper and a nerd in a manga (you know, where they are drawn so you can't see their eyes behind their glasses.)
Soul is rather cute as a girl, but like Patti his/her current looks seem very out of character with his attitudes. Very much a sort of "hime" look, which, I suppose, is like what the popular "cool" girls look like in shoujo manga so that might explain that. A little to prim to truly grow on me, but a look that will be fun for a chapter or two. And, yes, very noticably not big chested. But then, he's really into Maka, so no surprise there.
Maka's gender-bent look is actually the one I kinda wonder about the most. She doesn't change much which, if they are reflecting what attracts them about the opposite sex indicates one of three things: A) she is oblivious as they come and hasn't really noticed boys. Hey, she's only, what, thirteen or fourteen. At that age that isn't that surprising despite what the media likes to tell us. or B) She is narsistic and wants someone whose a clone of herself like herself or C) She finds the same things admirable in both men and women, namely things like intelligence, and strives to have those admirable traits too, so that's why so little change is present. What I find a little disappointing is that male!Maka has little traits of male!Soul whereas Soul's gender bent self reveals he is attracted to small chests and Tsubaki and Blackstar's gender bent selves also reveal they find the other person attractive.
