This morning I made my cupcakes for this month's IC Northampton. Raspberry and white chocolate, drizzled with champagne and framboise, topped with a raspberry and greek yoghurt frosting, piped into the shape of a rose, for the theme today is Flower Power
When I got home today, disaster! My carefully piped roses had all melted!
I was on the verge of cancelling, and possibly of tears. This happened last time when one of my entries, painstakingly crafted from white chocolate, melted in the heat! This time I'd avoided mid-June white chocolate sculpting when the journey involves a car with no aircon and a walk at the other end. But still the sun scuppered me!
Or did it. Flower power...let's have a look in the garden! And what have we here?
(I have no idea actually. I'm not really a gardens person. But it's pretty!)
One swift bloom-plucking later, and here was the result.
Almost done, but what it needed was what all my cakes always need - glitter!
And here we have it. So much for the sculpting. I think they're pretty though!
