Family
Anna/Nina/Sister/My other self
It’s quite difficult to explain Johan’s feelings towards his sister. She’s the only one in the world he has any “real” affection for in the slightest. In his mind, she is his other half, they are the same person and yet not. He spent his childhood trying to protect her from the world, even going so far as to take away her traumatic memories and making them his own. He believed she should have anything she wanted in life. If she wants him dead, he gives her a gun to shoot him with and tells her how to get rid of the evidence. He kept tabs on her when they were separated. He misses her terribly. When she ends up pointing a gun to her own head, he just walks away. Their relationship is complicated as hell. He loves her though. She is the only person in the world he loves.
And she forgave him here. He had it planned out at home. He was going to die. He was going to die and Tenma was going to shoot him. The town would burn and his scenery for a doomsday would be complete. But he ended up here. And Anna showed up and she FORGAVE him. And he’s not sure how to feel about that. He was going slightly insane without her here. Without knowing where she was. But at the same time he knows it’s dangerous here and doesn’t want her hurt. He …has his sister back in a way he never thought possible and he’s not sure what to think about that. But he will always love her. She is now the only thing that matters to him here.
Valentine’s Day created a new crop of difficulties for them, when the town made them believe that they had been in a romantic relationship in the past. After the day passed and the false memories left, Anna avoided him for a while. When she came to see him, she heard the tape of Johan when he was young and drugged. They had a talk about Valentine’s Day and Johan was clear that the decision as to what would happen between them would always be in Anna’s hands. They seem to be back to acting the way things were before. However sometimes they may appear a little closer at times.
He is also starting to shift back into his more protective nature towards her, like it was when they were younger. He's still not really sure how he's supposed to act around Anna or what his views are on her safety. Because she forgave him and they're acting like they were before, when they were young and he would kill anyone who dared to look at her funny. But he's older now and he knows she doesn't want him to kill people. But the monster is still there and he can't control it.
It will always be complicated, but Anna will always be the one with the most sway over him. He loves her and will always love her.
Doctor Tenma/Father Figure/Choice of Death
Another complicated relationship from home. Doctor Tenma is the man who saved Johan’s life as a child. And because of that Johan see’s him as something of a father. He thanked his father, by murdering the doctors that stood in the way of him getting a promotion. Ten years later he meets the Doctor again, calming shooting a man in front of him and then thanking him.
After that, Tenma starts hunting Johan down. Johan wants to show Tenma that the world is not a good place and that the only way humans are equal, is in death.
He also plans to die by Tenma’s hands. However when Tenma arrived in the town, he revealed that even after Johan get’s shot in the head, it is not by Tenma and Tenma was in fact rushing off to save him again. Johan is still trying to process this. At the moment, he is continuing with his attempts to convince Tenma to kill him and break the doctor’s moral beliefs.
Tenma is probably the only other person in the world that Johan would listen to. Not nearly as much as his sister. However in his own way, Johan respects Tenma a great deal.
People/ Everyone He Meets
Edward Nigma/The Riddler
During the Christmas event, Johan lost what remained of his sanity when he was given his sisters dead body as as gift. He decided to get a head start of the scenery of a doomsday. Then Edward/Batman showed up. Johan still managed to break Edward and convince the man to shoot him. Edward left him a riddle. Johan met up with him about a week later to talk. By breaking in the house. They parted on good terms until Edward realized that Johan had left him a riddle of his own.
Johan has been stalking and generally being a creep to him ever since. He’s also getting to know Edward’s son better.
Johan has offered Edward the chance to learn more about his past. In a game of sorts. One question, one answer. If Edward get’s the question correct, then Johan will tell him something about his past. If Edward get’s the question wrong. He has to tell Johan something about his own past. Edward, still doesn’t realize the real risks of this game.
Aaron Taylor
At first he was simply a boy who Johan had listed as a possible candidate for his boredom. In that, he seemed easy to break. However he apparently got to know Anna, which made things all the more interesting, when Johan realized that the boy had been warned against him. He knows she told him, and Aaron knows, Johan knows. However it has yet to actually been said out loud. He made Aaron start to fear that thanks to the letter sent out on Christmas, the people in the town didn’t really trust him and would most likely turn on him.
At the moment Johan is completely ignoring the boy. Thanks to interference by Anna, and realizing that simply dropping his interest in Aaron would just confuse his sister. He may turn his attention to him in the future though. Anna failed to say he should avoid talking to him “forever”.
Peter Parker/ Probably Spider-Man
A young man who knows his sister. He is also a fan of a “super-hero” called “Spider-Man.” Johan is amused by how defensive he is of this person. He’s sure there’s a reason to it.
He’ll be quite curious to see if this “Spider-man” shows up in town. He has a feeling he will.
Slugger
A strange boy with a great deal of darkness around him. Also appears to be the fake!son of Edward Nygma. Johan has taken a liking to him. They both enjoy tormenting Edward and Johan read Slugger the book "The Nameless Monster'.
Germany
His country...in a sense. He see's himself as a German citizen. But he doesn't at the same time. Just as he doesn't really see himself as a person but as a monster. He will always say he's from Germany because he doesn't want anyone to know of his past. He hates East Germany for the orphanage he was in there. Mostly because they made him forget everything and he almost forgot Anna. He will never forgive them for that. Ever.
Now with Germany in general. Johan has spent a good part of his life killing the people around him. So he finds it rather amusing that his nation is speaking to a person who has murdered more of his own people then imagenable. And since he wants to kill everyone in the world, it's a safe bet to say that he would very much like to kill Germany.
It's also why he's taken an interest in Germany. He wants to know what Germany's morals are. If he doesn't kill. Because forcing your own nation to kill you sounds like a good way to go out. And if the people who Germany cares about happen to be other countries that justs makes killing them even more intereseting. In short, if this were the real world everyone Germany knows would be starting to die. Since death doesn't last here though, Johan is going to have to think of something new.
People He Dislikes
Theo Crawford
“Married” to his sister. He needs to die. Or go away.
Either way he’s going to be watched very closely from now on. Johan tends to think of everyone about the same but due to this man’s connection with his sister, he doesn’t like him at all.
Shizuru Fujino
At first he thought she was merely an interesting person to chat with. She had similar views on having one person you would do anything to protect.
And then she killed his.
She killed Anna, is pretty much all that needs to be said.
Garviel
From a futuristic world, apparently run by space Nazi’s.
Joking aside, the information he heard about it, certainly reminded him of the eugenics groups from Germany. And on one hand Johan doesn’t really care that much. On the other hand, he has far too many personal memories of things groups like that have done to him and his sister to be completely indifferent.
And Garviel knows his sister. Which is why Johan told her everything that Garviel told him. Most likely destroying their friendship. However, in this case. He did it because he was worried for her and he does not want her friends with a fanatic.
Exceptions
Rin Kagamine
An odd girl who claims to be a robot of some sort, deisgned for singing. Normally Johan would have paid her as much attention as anyone else. However they had a conversation about twins, and she revelled that she also had a twin brother who was the mirror image of her. And how much she missed him and she sang a song that even mentioned monsters.
Which is why Johan has taken an interest in her. And oddly enough, there is a part of him that hopes she sees her brother soon.
