I am alright. I am not in New Orleans. I am in Baton Rouge. It is much higher and farther inland than New Orleans.
But thanks to everyone that called to see if I'm alright. I'm sure it's more comforting to hear it from me rather than wondering if I made it out okay. (I left New Orleans Saturday, by the way). Classes have been cancelled until next Wednesday (Sept. 7), and I have no idea what will happen in the next 24 hours. We're just sitting here in a hotel room in Baton Rouge waiting out the storm, which should hit New Orleans around 7am CST tomorrow.
