* Don't buy Silk products. It has been owned by a dairy company for some time now, but only recently have they started shifting all of the good acts out of the product while simultaneously raising the price. Silk is no longer organic except for a few special varieties which are only partially organic. The company has shifted from American organic soy farmers to Chinese soy farmers. I'm neither strictly vegan nor do I eat only organic foods, but there is a much more virtuous choice to be had in EdenSoy products. They're all organic, mostly local, based in Clinton, Michigan and even have a distribution office in Detroit. They are win. Meijer's soymilk is an OK runner-up because it's cheap, organic, and is distributed by a Michigan company, though I don't know where they get their beans.

* Went with Matt to see Zappa Plays Zappa for the third time last week. As always they were all excellent musicians, but Dweezil decided to be a petulant diva that evening (Diva Zappa was not present). After promising to play a requested song after an intermission, he came back after a too-short break, played 1/4 of the "Yellow Snow" suite and abruptly stopped the band, acted irritated by the audience, and said he was skipping to the end of the setlist. He played half of one more song and ended the show. If he were any kind of entertainer and wanted the show to end he could have done it without letting the audience know how much he disliked them, especially since they had already played for over two hours. Dweezil Zappa acted like a big floppy dick.

* Cedar Point last Friday with Matt and his friend Justin. The waits were either short or tolerable on all rides and the sunblock I used worked. Between two coupons and a surprise UAW-discounted-parking-lot-ticket-sale wee got a total of $37 off our three tickets. The new Sarah-Palin-adventure-coaster "Maverick" is really fun and contains a 90-degree "hill".

* My work on "Detroit Wildlife" is winding down. I'm very excited to have been able to be employed helping to make this documentary. It should be beautiful when it's done.

* My Google Voice number seems to be working. I have discovered that it fits into the old-fashioned Detroit naming scheme for the 313s. In Detroit dial:

REdford-1 2727

Call it collect, call it direct, but call it today!

* I'm in love.
