Reposted from Meme: 10 'Head-Canon' Facts About Your Fandom Character

Jan 25, 2010 23:27

L would like you to know that all these facts are confidential and if they are leaked anywhere he will send Watari to kill you.

1. Naomi Misora looks like the memories he has of his mother. (This isn't really hard, as all he remembers about his mother is that she was half-Japanese and had long black hair. He has no pictures of her or his father.)

2. He is secretly a Batman fanboy. In a very scholarly, professionally curious way, of course.

3. The cathedral he sees/hears in his head is the Winchester cathedral, located down the street from Wammy's House. The bells tolling remind him of the life-changing event he had as a child that left him an orphan. It's also kind of a warning signal to him; if he starts hearing or remembering the cathedral, it's his instincts telling him that something is really really really wrong, in his head or in his immediate vicinity.

4. (This one was inspired by a line in the prequel Another Note.) He solved his first case at eight years old with the help of Watari. It was the murder of his parents and others by a criminal who went down in history as the Winchester Mad Bomber. I'm writing a whole fic about it to help me figure out the details, because I am a freak.

5. He was already pretty strange by the time Watari came into his life; his parents were eccentrics themselves and encouraged his odd mannerisms instead of signing him up to get tested for autism.

6. He knows a LOT of languages. He's fluent in English, Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, and French, and has a working knowledge of Russian, Italian, German and Arabic. He is constantly brushing up on all of these and more, because you never know what country is going to need his assistance, and getting translators is a waste of time, energy, and money.

7. The name on his credit card is just a giant L. ... Okay no, I'm just kidding. ... However, L IS his real first name. It's not an abbreviation for anything. He just really did have the kind of parents who thought L Lawliet was an acceptable name to give their son.

8. He spends a lot more time in the field than you would think. Especially before taking on a case, he likes to go to the area in question and poke around for himself. Then more likely than not, he will leave the country and then get involved remotely.

9. He constantly researches as much pop culture as he can. It is vital because so many criminals are products of their environment. Clearly, however, keeping up with modern society in every major country in the world is hard, so he often misses things. This will result in a series of odd questions to the people talking to him, and/or bizarre personal experiences. (Example: Going to Walmart to understand how it's run and coming out with an Easy-Bake Oven.)

10. Contrary to popular belief, he does sleep. Between the hours of 1 am and 6 am he is asleep, unless matters are really pressing. Yes, he can sleep in a crouching position, but he is capable of lying down as well. ETA: And when I say lying down, I mean like this.

BONUS~ 11. HE IS A VIRGIN. AHAHAHAHA don't kill me, L. D: ilu. :D
