This past weekend was spent in Avalon, NJ. IT WAS SO GREAT! We spent all the days on the beach, then would shower and hit the various "towns" in the area.

The first night the youngins of the girl group (my sister, Jonel, Robbie's girlfriend Jess, and myself) all went down to the little restuarant/bar of the hotel we were staying in. I think Khara felt she needed to make up for not buying me any alcohol on my 21st Birthday (which was completely unnecessary). We had drinks pool side (isn't really allowed, but the manager happened to be at the bar and gave us the ok), and I found that I actaully LIKE malabu rum and coke! The bartender served us a second round on him (not in a sleazey way). And ,half an hour after Khara tried to teach me to Irish dance (not my strong suit), we retired for the night and giggled ourselves to sleep.

The days on the beach were filled with a nice mix of activity and relaxation. I think Jonel and I took Pattle Ball to the next level. There was a strong undertow (sp?) everyday which made wave riding all the more excited. I found myself eating it a lot of the time but prized my skinned knee as a battle scar. Jonel and I also kept a tally of how many times the lifeguards whistled at us. (It may have looked like he was telling us to get back in the assigned area, but really it was the fabulous hairdos that we emerged from the water with) I also tried to study everyday. This got me no where and just made me a little more anxious.

The second night we went to Aleathea's in Cape May. Expensive. Girly. Delicious. The pianist lead us all in a very well executed round of "Happy Birthday" to my glistening eyed mother. Following the meal, all in thouroughly good moods, we sat on the huuge wrap around porch in the many rocking chairs, sipped our various hot beverages and discussed the dusk into darkness.

It was very nice to really incorporate Jess into the family. She has been gradually worked in for the past several years, but this trip seemed to cement it. I even have the pictures of her joining in the water-ballet antics to substantiate this theory.

Now I am home with a frightening amount of work. At least I have a tan for awhile.
