Wow, no update all summer until this point.
Although on the above note, I must say that it isn't unexpected. Work at GSA-FAS (formerly -FSS) takes a lot out of me, believe it or not. I get up at 6am and am home by 5pm. Regardless of the day at work, and what I did or didn't do, I just don't feel like doing too much during the week. The weekend, however, is a completely different story.
With one month of summer vacation to go, looking at the rest of the summer in retrospect, I have come to realize that a bit much has been packed into this summer to date - good and bad - for what I have come to like, expect, and regularly live. At some point (probably once school has started) I'll make a series of posts chronicling this summer, current thoughts on select, varying topics, and changes to implement this next year and ones already put in place.
I also realize that this next semester is going to be unlike any other in the past. As of the moment, I'm slated to live with seven other friends in Chesapeake 3H (I think 3H?). Well, that number looks to be six at the moment - the seventh will most likely be a random assignment since alex's and my former suitemate brian seems to be temporarily parting ways with school for reasons known by most who will read this. Aside from all of that, this next year will be a blast in the social/fun/partying/otherwise goofing off regard. Where's the problem? No problem! Well, perhaps academically... Honestly, bless your souls for being quality people, but we're going to have to have some academic rules I'm afraid. This will be discussed in further with you guys offline, but it's just a list of concerns and possible compromising and otherwise respecting each other's right to excell and succeed this next school year.
I've lost a lot of faith in our government and protection forces. In working for the government, I've come across a lot of small talk that I will not list here, and will most likely share, which shows that we're governed by the influential, not by the (exclusively) rich or those in the know, or those with hookups, although some of those with influence have the aforementioned at their disposal, which only helps political (in the literal and philosophical sense) agendas. Speaking of philosophy, I've come to notice that many high-ups in human resources and management and other such things have degrees in philosophy (in conjuction with other degrees in some cases, but many just have standalone philosophy degrees.. no shit!). Going back to the topic of protection forces, I have just recently learned (from a law student, no less) that it is perfectly legal for a law enforcement official to lie to you to get you to admit to a "crime" that you MIGHT have committed (no it doesn't matter if you actually committed the crime or not, it's up to the official's discretion). Everyone should beware of this and be on your toes mentally at all times in the public presence of a (any really) law enforcement official, and analyze the precise wording used. I'd really like to have lunch with the person who was consulted for the ethics of this law.
For now, I'm alive and well. I'll be more specific about some things that I have mentioned, later.
