Excellent coverage of the construction of this part of the Trans-Siberian Railway. I cannot wait for a second volume of photographs. The answer to the question, 'how was this built with mechanisation' is, all done with horse-powered haulage, plenty of navvies, lots of local materials and hand-powdered Archimedean screw water lifters (last image) for draining water from excavations. Well done and thanks for the album.
