For anyone who reads this, here goes:
The month and a half of slave labor finished on my birthday (July 15th). I turned 20 and the playhouse's present to me was no more 75 hour weeks making 100 a week (actually 85 with taxes taken out).
Now, I perform in my shows, I get every monday off and any other night or day that Odd Couple is playing (including tonight), and we do 3 hours of work call on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I am no longer a slave to Northern Lights Playhouse. I am now an actor and box office bitch for all the shows. At least it's gone up a step.
Chicago is definitely the best show that's playing and I'm proud to be a part of it. I have a bunch of emcee lines and I play the court clerk like I did in Wesleyan's production. The choreography is pretty awesome and I enjoy excecuting every dance.
My Fair Lady is boring during the scenes but the ensemble numbers are pretty f'in awesome. I tap dance with a garbage can lid on my right foot, don't worry all.
Pinocchio has been going since what, May 19th? The school performances went very well. We now perform it twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Saturday audiences are always really small and young but the Wednesday morning audiences are usually quite large and a good age of kids.
The Seven Year Itch is fine. I have four lines and then I run psych lights for the rest of the show. Easy peazy, as Christopher would say.
The children's camp started on monday. Meg, Landon, and I taught the 7 girls ranging from 5 to 13 a dance to Steam Heat. It is a lot of fun.
In the near future:
Two performances of My Fair Lady tomorrow, kids camp on Friday with Nicky from 9-11, Itch performance Friday night, Pinocchio Saturday morning, work call in the box office 2-5, Chicago performance Saturday night, My Fair Lady sunday matinee performance, Monday day off!!! WOOHOO!
More later.
P.S. McGee is fuckin awesome.
