Rested most of Friday. So, so tired. Tired for too many reasons.

A night full of half-remembered dreams--living in a large house someone wanted me out of, arguing with somebody over something no longer recalled. Woke up in the middle of the night, having trouble sleeping because I still kept hearing dream-voices. Finally got up around eight, showered and ate breakfast earlier than has been my wont of late. After some pleasant conversation with a prospective roommate and a realization that I had far more energy than you might have expected me to, it was obvious I needed to go for a good, long walk.

Partly cloudy, a little bit breezy, humid. House thermometer read about 72/22 degrees outside. Yesterday's rains left mud puddles all over today, little ponds waiting everywhere to be splashed in by the unwary and uninhibited. Though my shoes got covered in their fair share of mud, I mostly stayed dry, with just a little dirty water spattered on the left leg of my jeans. Feeling the sun on my hair, listening to the chirping birds, looking at the budding trees, smelling the warm, rich mud, I had difficulty believing this is supposed to be winter.

I had no idea where I was going today, so I wandered in some unpaved areas, some of them areas where I probably wasn't supposed to be even though nobody tried to stop me. Well, I did have a plan originally, based on a quick look at a map before I left the house; but that plan was scrapped when I learned that a bridge was out and there was no other quick way to get where I'd intended to go. Mostly I just reveled in the ability to walk in beautiful weather. I did end up in an international grocery at one point and found myself wondering why they had so many different brands of a sauce with an unfortunate name.

I'm a bit too tired to tell if I'm making sense, so it's probably a good idea to stop typing now. Oh, the Gmaps Pedometer says today's walk was a respectable six & a quarter miles. Let's see if I can manage to get out of bed tomorrow!
