dear ff.net... you gits

We do not support dash or other character based section/scene markers. If you wish to create a separation in your chapter, please use the officially supported horizontal line feature in our document editor or in your favorite word program. Using unsupported section markers will only make your entries less compatible to future upgrades. You can create the horizontal lines in Microsoft Word or OpenOffice by typing 3 or 4 consecutive dash/hyphen keys and then hitting enter. The site will correctly recognize these scene breakers when you upload them.

Dear ff.net,

I hate you right now.

Love,
Me

So yeah... I have 74 stories at ff.net and I have never used their 'official' breaks except at the beginning. I always use a centred '-'. Or I have been recently anyway. Checked Inamorata and the 'oOo' style break I used in that seemed to be there... but I'm sure they've disappeared from some of my other fics.

I hate using the 'official' page breaks for Word as well because occasionally - just occasionally - they'll get stuck and not work properly.

Plus, they're ugly.

Grr.

I can't wait for the 'you should have used clearer page break' comments to come rolling in. Because they will. You just know that they will.

Oh, and I have a poll up at burnishedspells.
