i seem to be developing two very different lists of ships. one, my canon lovelies, and the other, my totally fanon ones. thing is, i'm very picky about the later, because i am such a canon whore, that i don't want them going wildly ooc just to satisfy a whim. i want them in character, and in a "realistic" (i mean, really, we're talking about wizards here, haha) setting that makes it "work". i never thought i'd like this pairing, and still, often, i don't. but when a writer spends so much time developing this alternate version, this alternate timeline of how characters evolve, it's inevitable that what they produce is better than the wham-bam "i just want to get to my point" fics.
i'm really enjoying this. i honestly think that draco/ginny might be my fave non-canon ship. (and, strangely, neville/ginny...that girl certainly does get around, heh)
looking forward to future chapters - been reading this off and on all day (what else are weekends for?), and enjoying it a fair bit :)
Thank you! I'm the same way - for a non-canon 'ship to work for me there needs to be some back story in place and I like to see that the author has at least tried to explain the pairing and how it came about. It's something that I always try to do.
