Last night I went to see the Wallflowers at Mississippi nights. I went to see an aging, washed-up rock band struggling to maintain their artistic integrity, and I got exactly that. Jakob Dylan was charming enough, and the band was pretty good, but I'm not going to lie and say that it was a great show. I had fun and they're still my favorite band.
Anna Nalik (sp?) opened, and she was enjoyable, though her personality was a bit too "look at me, I'm too cute for words." She smelled nice.
Any time I see another band play, I inevitably think about playing in bands myself, and I always sort of miss it. Even when Driving One-Handed was busy hating each other, it was still fun to play guitar. Even when everything was a struggle, I still enjoyed the struggle. So yeah, I really feel I need to get back into it someday, but now I'm burned out.
"The truth will not set you free. It's okay to believe that you're not good enough."
