I'm an Oil Man

Happily, this week has been busy. On Sunday (aka Mother's Day), I gave half-a-dozen free chair massages at urbanweeds; it seemed like one or two were interested in coming to see me at my practice. By tomorrow afternoon, I'll have done eleven massages this week. That'll be the best week since I've started up on my own. If I can do ten-eleven-twelve (or more) massages per week consistently, things will be good. I've also got chair massage set up at couple businesses in the future: a chocolate factory and a healthcare services company. Apparently putting a little energy out there does reap rewards.
The past week or so, I've also been planning an upcoming three-night backpacking trip on the coast, starting (and ending) at Rialto Beach. This will be our first actual backpacking trip. So we've got some stuff to pick up beforehand. I found a good backpack in the basement/used section at REI-$60 for a $250 pack. Still much more to get. It's been interesting planning this hike because you really have to time the hike right on account of the tides. Some places you can only get past when the tide is out; else: drowned. I'm pretty excited. I hope I can take some decent pictures. I really need a tripod.
In other news: in June, we'll make the switch from international-student-roommmate-who-we-must-cook-for to regular-roommmate. We put an ad up on Craigslist and seem to have reached an agreement with a girl who's currently in Minnesota-but not from Minnesota originally. This should hopefully reduce the stresses, small as they are, in having our current roommate: she wants to eat at a certain time/we work late, she likes to eat our dinner leftovers for breakfast/we planned on using them for another meal, she likes to completely destroy our bathroom/we don't want an inch of water covering every surface. Plus, a bit more rent money and, unless we reach an agreement, she won't be eating our food. Have I mentioned that when we have leftover pizza sauce or caramelized onions that we put specifically on the shelf that we designated the don't-eat-from-because-these-are-ingredients-for-another-meal-shelf, they'll probably still be there the next morning? I'm excited about that.
Finally: Comcast sucks, and I've over-hyphenated everything today.
Be well.
