So this was Demuth's week to have her ego stroked. On Wednesday, I won first place in the Preston Gurney Contest for Literary Criticism (Poetry), which disproves the financial uselessness of the humanities by netting me $3000.00.
Then on Friday I was given an internship with the Conflict Resolution program at the Carter Center. The odds of getting said internship are worse than going to Princeton, mostly because lots of people want to be on a retreat with ex-prez Jimmy in June.
Also on Friday, I was given joint BIAP/AIP awards ($5000.00) to go to Nigeria for the summer. Thus I am in the position of trying to decide which to do - Carter or Nigeria. Must make this choice soon. Advice is hereby being solicited.
