~rl stuff, feel free to ignore~

I just returned from taking the DAT (dental admissions test). I couldn't sleep at all last night from nerves, which of course made me even more nervous (and spend an entire morning whining at my mom) because taking a 5 1/2 hour test with sections on perceptual ability on no sleep is rather worrying...But I did pretty well! The scoring system is kind of weird so it's hard to say exactly how well, but the range is 0 to 30, 17/18 is average, and apparently only a few people get a 24 or higher a year (I have no clue how that works...why have a scale of 30 if it's impossible to get that high). I landed a 21, with my nicest scores in the sciences. And the perceptual ability one is pretty good too (which is good because I'm trying to sell myself as an artist-scientist on my personal statement). If the internet tells truths, I've just upped my chances to getting accepted to schools significantly, and the 3.9 GPA don't hurt either...Only time will tell, but I think I've got a pretty nice application despite the competition for seats in the field.

My next big indecision is where to apply to; how many places, I mean. On one hand is everyone else, telling stories about getting accepted into only one of their 8 schools, other people saying they applied to 24 (yeesh). On the other hand is the fact you have to go to each school for interviews (if you get them), and I'm still piss poor. If I apply to 5 the "WHAT IF IT WAS THE 6/7/8th+ THAT WOULD TAKE ME" will be on my mind, yet I do have good great better academics than anyone I've talked to personally also trying to get in. But then it seems like most people did tons of research experience or a have a brother who's a dentist who let them shadow for 500 hours on top of all their other volunteer stuff, which makes me feel like I have at least one deficiency and shouldn't get a big head about it. Applications start in early June (I'll be copying/pasting all my pre-organized info into those online boxes at toonqueen's place around botcon, which means from now until then I'll be pre-organizing that info.

And finishing that commission I totally shoved aside to studyyyyyy I don't know if I should contact them and apologize, since that last message I left was a separate apology for taking so long because I decided to up their picture from quick-drawing to full-picture-with-background for free, which makes me sound so much more awesome.

After I finish that I'll be back to working on those icons I managed to do one of before getting commissioned.
