She knows that her brother loves the Chan girl.
Bai Tza could never be known as the most observant creature, especially not among humans, but anybody (excluding Dai Gui) could notice the heat between Shendu and the girl, notice the way that they look at each other when he’s human, notice the way that he offers her his hand every time they have to negotiate difficult terrain and definitely notice the way that she smiles at him.
Of course, their love is misguided and rather wrong, even from a demons point of view, he is too old for her; she is too human for him… And yet there is still a connection, an extremely twisted one but it is still there, still binding the both of them to each other.
It’s actually rather amusing.
Of course, it’s only amusing until one day she finally finds them kissing, like there’s nothing else in the world but each other, he’s backed up against the wall, she’s standing with her hands in his shirt and they’re definitely liked, disgustingly so and yet… Sweetly, as if this was good for both of them.
She clears her throat, they raise their fingers in unison: a not so subtle sign that she should be backing away right now and leaving them to their attraction.
For once she does, for once she hurries away… And tries to ignore the nagging voice in the back of her head that longs for a connection like that, it’s a stupid voice anyway, why would she want to be like her baby brother in any way? But yet it persists, and it isn’t until several hours later that it falls back into silence.
She can only feel glad; too many demons going soft would be bad for the ecosystem.
