Morning,
I watch movies and television shows and read books and comics because the real world is boring and frankly sucks.
But if life were like those fantastic ones, would I be wearing a red shirt or would I be (in)famous?
It used to be interesting. My dad? Got crushed by essentially a front-end loader once (underground mine) and they had to rebuild his arms and every rib was broken as well as other things. My boss? Once nearly drowned in a raging river while he and his coworkers were out looking for cattle (used to be a cowboy) and had to cross the river at midnight -- he can't swim. Both have had bears chase/follow them. Heroes lived before news and mass media made it ordinary and couldn't be exaggerated. Achilles today? He was just a man with a gun and killed a bunch of people. Achilles yesterday? He was a god.
I often wish I had been born earlier or later (space, the final frontier).
I fixed a water cooler once. Everyone in the office loved me and talked about me for a week. I was a hero.
That's a lie actually. I've never been a hero and if you need a cooler fixed you call the guy who sends the guy. He's the man. A mediocre man.
Move to Georgia.
Evening,
I.M. still blacksmithing and have a girlfriend now after 7 years.
