One of the shadows took the form of my friend. During my time with them I appeared to temporarily fall victim to a form of hypnoses unlike anything I've ever experienced before. I too am curious as to what sort of magic what in place here, it was an incredible trick.

INTERESTING. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SAME CASE FOR ANYONE WHO HAS RUN INTO THESE CREATURES SO FAR. YOU SAY IT CREATED HYPNOSIS?

It's the closest thing I can relate it to. I personally suspect it to be the sorcery of another magic user here. It's quite possible these creatures were deliberately showered in some form of enchanted dust that once inhaled could produce a false image to the mind and ultimately hypnotize them for a short period.
