it occured to me i never updated about last weekend. the shows were faboo, the company even better. i had an absolute blast... i'm even starting to like NYC. a bit. so Altar Boyz was a lt of fun, including a character that reminded me so much of devin, i was kind of dumbstruck. DRS was fun, of course. Rachel York did a vastly superior job to Sherie... she has an amazing and fun belt... and also a lot less plastic acting. BUT the cream of it all was The Drowsy Chaperone which was such a joy to watch. an ingenious and intricate set mixed with a lot of fun song and dance. the songs were written with a perfect blend of nostalgia, camp and spoof. the Man in the Chair was so adorable i wanted to give him a big hug... perfect reasoning for just why i love musicals. and i got to meet bob martin and tell him how much i loved the show... a definite high point. other points of awesomeness follow:
-"cheat out!"
-7 minutes until the Altar Boyz are ALL UP IN YOUR BIZNESS.
-times jess and i cursed in front of young children: at least 4
-new friends met: 1 (yay, nicole!)
-the Altar Boyz will be DROPPIN' THE FUNK in 3 minutes.
-geek out moments: a few (jess screaming "i win, i win, i win" to the printer was one)
-...in front of stars: just one (i heart bob martin)
-AND i fond lion bars
i skipped out of town when i should have been writting bio and i just don't care, even now. it was totally worth it. i just wish i had the talent and the guts to go down there, but i'm content with my decision. for now.
