Half the reason the human race has sci-fi movies where the aliens come down from the great beyond and invade and attempt to wipe us out is because we’re curious and also scared of what’s out there, none of us like thinking we’re alone in the big wide universe.
I know I always wanted to be an Astronaut because my dad was one and he always had these wonderful stories every time he came back from out there, and I wanted to experience that for myself.
My mom said I was born curious but everybody’s curious, some more than others. I was just lucky enough to get the chance to indulge my curiosity and explore what had been up until that point in my life unreachable. Space was everything I thought it would be and more, totally met and exceeded all my childhood hopes and dreams and never once damaged the mystique that had always surrounded it.
I actually had to leave everything familiar behind in order to discover that life beyond our universe and aliens do actually exist. I’d always had this preconceived notion of what to expect if I should ever run into alien life forms, but over time and with getting to know them as people I realised that everything I thought I knew meant nothing at all.
As much intrigue and as much mystery as there was about aliens it meant nothing in the face of the reality of them, they’re just like you and me, only some of them have tentacles and blue skin.
