I have been observing a lot of things that I could not find in my memory. It seems that I am peered upon as uneducated because there are many anomalies that either contradict my memory, or are things that were designated as fictional, and yet I have been witness to these things in person

Oh man. It SUCKS. If you do anythin' in this town they don't like, they brainwash ya! An' you act just like all the other drones in town. Yer all like, "Boy howdy do I love Mayfield and bein' a good citizen!" An' you have no idea how long it might last. It happened to me once, only lasted like half a day. Engie, he got hit the same time as me wit' it, an' he... he's still droned, weeks later.

Droning forces you to conform to the city's will, rather than adapting on your own. But, it's not permanent.

Exactly. But sometimes it IS permanent. Some people get stuck like that. An' you don't always have ta do somethin' wrong. It's like the powers that be of Mayfield wake up one day an' say, hey I don't like the look 'a that guy, an' they keep 'em droned fer good.

Uh, maybe? I was smashin' stuff up on the streets when I got over tha brainwashin' an' nothin' happened. But the reason it happened in the first place was cuz I got up in Grady's face.

I guess so, yeah. Sucks, doesn't it? That's why I'm workin' on bustin' outta this whackjob town! Yer best bet is to avoid Grady. Apparently he can pretty much do whatever he wants. Teleport, transform, make yer shit disappear an' then brainwash ya.
