mr. mustaine, you've done it again. you've created a tour with so much good, but something so bad i've gone into fist-shaking-at-heavens mode. last year's gigantour was so fine & so dandy in concept i coulda cried. grand-tastic bands with one exception in the bunch being dillenger escape whores. but on top of that, they have nevermore go on so early, we didn't even get there in time to see 'em.
this year... there's a couple bands i've never heard playin'... & of course there's megadeth & nothing really needs to be said on that since, ya know, it's megadeth... then there's into eternity who're pretty good... there's arch enemy who i just adore... & then opeth... #2 most favoritest band in the whole wide world... now, i know you're sayin', "champ, this sounds like it's right up your alley! why, i can't find a single reason you'd be dissatisfied with this lineup. what's with the frownyface?" i would then proceed to throttle you for your overly cheery attitude and stupid hat before having to explain myself and my grumpy ways. ya see, my hypothetical friend, i didn't mention who's co-headlining this wonderful sounding concert tour.
lamb of god. lamb of freaking god. a band who i can't stand. a band i despise. a band i, without question or remorse HATE.
some of you may not understand it, but i just can't do it. i can't willingly spend money to sit in a seat and watch that godawful band preform. i know some of you out there like 'em a whole lot (and, believe me, i've submitted your names to a crack team of poor-musical-taste-investigators) but i cannot fathom why. mr. chaz copied one of their CDs to my computer wanted to put music on his ipod because he is a parasite (what i just mentioned isn't the parasetic part; it's how he comes here just to use my computer to download his crappy, racist idiot-songs. i can't wrap my mind around why he uses my computer to do this when i seem to be part of a very small minority of people who aren't prejudiced morons. why the hell doesn't he use other people for that, & not me? crazy jackass. tangent over) i'm gonna go ahead and listen to them right now.... alright, so far not dreadful, but i can't escape this feeling that 'dumb' is being emitted from my speakers. that 'suck' is now just flying around my room and will infect things with its suckitude. i can't really explain why i just hate this band so much. i dunno. i'm not really a stickler for great singing or anything, but i think this guy's gotta be one of the worst vocalists ever. maybe that's why i don't like 'em. whatever.
so, here's the dilema. do i now go to gigantour2 when it hits the NY area in late sept? its pros are obvious; one non-obvious one is that i'm sure i'll be able to find peeps to go w/ cuz i know tons o' folk who like the bands playing (unless i've offended all my log enjoying friends. if that's the case: i'm sorry. i cannot express just how sorry i am that you've all been conned into liking this band.) that can't be said when it comes to other concert coming up like moonspell/katatonia (erik's comin' too, but we gotta get a drivin' individual) & especially the porcupine tree show in oct. (jared's a possibility since he's like the only other person i know who's heard of 'em) &, if not, there's a soilwork show the same day, so i'll probably go to that. sorry, i was just hangin' out w/ ca, so the art of the tangent is ever-present. now the cons of gigantour2: lamb of god, lamb of god is gonna get more time than the good bands ('cept megadeth), lamb of god will get more money, my money, than the good bands, & it'll be seated, which is bad 'specially when i'll probably become like a bored child & throw a tantrum during lamb of sod. (yeah, i misspelled their name! i did it on purpose, too! DEAL!!) so, this is somethin' i gotta think on. i hate... things... liam over & out.
