I've got no ears...

Ok, so I actually have ears, as most of you who have seen me recently can attest to...

But I have no ear for music - IE I can't listen to a song and figure it out.

Basically, I'm annoyed, it's been over a month since the new Cannibal Corpse album has come out, and there are two songs I was hoping to see the sheet music for:

A Cauldron of Hate

Shatter Their Bones:

It would have been nice to see:
Scalding Hail
Carnivorous Swarm

However, Cannibal Corpse is so retarded good that it seems no one can figure their songs out, which means I probably can't play them anyway. Not only are they so good that no one can figure their songs out, they are actually so good that they can't play their OWN music.

Yes, you read that correctly, they can't play their own songs because they are too hard for THEM to play.

So basically, I'm trying to find stuff I can actually play that sounds cool to me without dropping my E string to D (So I can play Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, As I Lay Dying, and most of my favorite In Flames songs)

So the first thing I learned was Gyroscope by In Flames

Gyroscope:

Then I figured I need some Metallica since they are standard issue E tuning material

You can't legally play metal without learning some SLAYER, I can play this entire song minus the solo and 5 notes during the rhythm (of which I can hit all of the notes about 20% of the time - my fingers are out of shape)

So now that I can play these, I need my next song.

If I want some of my favorite songs, I'll have to retune - since I have a floyd rose that means buying new strings with a heavier gauge and spending anywhere from 1-2 hours retuning (although once in tune I don't have to re-tune until I need new strings)

or Children of Bodom - Lil Blood Red Riding Hood:

So yea, to retune, or not to retune.... that is the question
