man, i'm back to my old self again...sleeping alltogether too much when given the chance, then feeling gross and upset that I'm so damn lazy.  oh well.

The concert on Thursday was really fun, on the ride up it was just really nice to talk and catch up and be real-life friends (ha).  The looming storm waited until we were nicely settled on the lawn, poured on us from the begining to the end of Sonic Youth's performance... My jacket came in VERY handy...but everyone was soaked.  Fortunately it stopped at the end of their 90 min set, so it was enough to give us an adventure and make us feel tough, it didn't quite make us miserable.   Then came DeathCab which was great...all the kids singing along and such, and finally the Flaming Lips who put on an awesome show.  They had a crowd of santa clauses dancing for the whole show on one side...and a crowd of something elses on the other...scantily clad elves?  just a random guess on my part...we were far away.  Oh and lots of huge balloons to throw into the audience, and confetti and streamers.  They also used a lot of projections, which I got to feel geeky a bout...  good show on the whole, and an excellent day.

On Friday I had a half day with Toby which was lovely  He's at the greatest age, it's just so pleasant to go hang out with him... he kindof just plays and sings and he can tell me what he's thinking about and what he needs or wants.  He's been trying to use the 'inodoro' (toilet) this past week..and it's silly cuz most of the time he'll just want to sit and read books on it for awhile and then he gets up to go play with his trains and pees allover the floor.  But it's all good, and I love having him in my life.  Next week we're going to go spend part of the day at the preschool he'll be starting at in September.  I'll be curious to see how he reacts to being in an all english environment... I don't remember that part of my life, but I imagine it was much the same as it will be for him...

Since it was a half day, and Brian had it off for some reason, we got to spend some time getting serious about finding an apartment.  (read: calling about ads and finding out they're not available)  A lot of the places that are available are in German Village, which is a great neighborhood, but a little farther away than I'd like to be.  I'm going to see a bunch of those anyways at some point next week.  So far we can only find one that is possibly available in the Short North...the funny thing is it's the exact same unit in the Buttles building that J & B lived in the first year they were married.  We'll see, it's a great place in the perfect location, but the realtor hasn't called us back yet.  This morning I had an appt at 10:45 to see an apartment, I was going to take the bus to go see it, but then Brian called and said he could come get me and we could go together.  So we did that, but we went to the wrong place, we called and figured out where the other place was (in German Village) and vroooooom, made it.  But it was on the outskirts of the village, really far away from any bus that i could possibly take to work, and it was kinda gross. so there.  I think we're being a little bit picky, but I think at this point we can afford to be, and it will be really fun to have a place that we really like. and I really don't want to have to drive to work on a regular basis. that would be dumb.
know what else is dumb?  when I got back this morning at 11:15, instead of being productive, or at least doing something I enjoy, I went back to sleep and didn't get up until 3!  ugh.  so that's why I feel gross.

SO. speaking of dumbness. last night after making dinner at like 10:30 at night (mmm, we made gnocchi with gorgonzola cream sauce and we drank the bottle of champagne that adam gave me for no good reason), I decided to show brian the dvds of the sitcoms from GSE.  Well...I nearly died.  The first one is on there just fine (definitely glad I got to see the scene where TD light-saber-battles with one of the kids.  incredible performance, just incredible.) then, you click on the next sitcom and instead of the sitcom it's the stupid 'making of' that they made...then you click on the last sitcom and it's the 'making of' AGAIN!  I was so stupid and sleep-deprived that I didn't check my work, and now I feel miserable that we sold these stupid messed up DVDs, to these kids that worked really hard and probably want to show their friends their projects and I spent all night making copies of them.  ugh. Then I checked the files that I brought home with me on my personal hard drive (to put online) and fortunately I have the real version of the second sitcom, but some how the last one although it is named "swipe sitcom" is actually just the 'making of' video.  So the actual 'swipe' if it still exists is in a box, on a shelf, wrapped in plastic, in a big metal storage pod, in North Carolina that no one will see until next year.  *ugh* and of course this is the class that I had all of the drama with.  So I think I need to write all of the kids an apology email, and make a dvd of the sitcom I DO have...? but what do i do about swipe? And then to add just a twinge of insult to injury, I watched the DVD I made of "the Photographer" and at the begining of the performance there is 30 seconds of black where you hear me yelling at this kid for trying to move the live feed setup.  *hides in a hole* I just feel stupid, and sad, and I just want to rewind and go back and fix it all, but I can't.  That's what I get for not sleeping, and trying to do too many things at once.  now what?
on a lighter note.  Michael K. my techie buddy from GSE called me last night and left a message which I just listened to today.  It was Samuel L. Jackson telling me about SNAKES ON A PLANE!!!  bahaha.  I don't know where he got the recording from, but it reminded me that it comes out in only 13 days!  Can you believe it?
