Letter to Santa

Dec 17, 2006 11:25

Dear Santa,

Since you see me when i'm sleeping, and know when i'm awake, I figured you probably read my blog too, so i'm dispensing with the formalities of envelope and stamp and just writing to you here.

My children want me to inform you that we don't have an actual CHIMNEY, per se-it's more of a faux mantel. (Fun to decorate, but utterly useless as a vessel for breaking and entering. Sorry.) The stockings were hung by it (with care,) but please don't hang out on the roof looking for a chimney top to come down in-because there isn't one. You are quite welcome to let yourself in the front door. Don't worry, the lump of blankets on the couch is only dad. He's harmless. We will be leaving you some freshly baked cookies, and a carrot for Rudolph (do your other reindeer ever get anything to eat? Everyone always seems to leave stuff just for Rudolph and nobody else.) The tree keeps falling over, (darned cheap tree stands) so if you happen to come in and it is laying drunkenly in the corner, you are still welcome to leave presents under/in/around/wherever you can fit them. Again, please do not try to exit through the 'opening' under the mantle. It is only decorative, and we don't want you hurting yourself. (Besides, if you got stuck, and we didn't find you for a few months, the stench would be awful.)

Christian, age 10 (but you knew that,) wants an mp3 player, a Harley Davidson remote control motorcycle, an Element skateboard complete, and a cell phone. Christian's behavior this year has been less than stellar, however, so I think just one of these main presents would be sufficient, accompanied by a couple of smaller, less expensive presents. (Besides, his birthday is two days after Christmas so maybe I can save one of the other main presents for then.)

Gwendolyn, age 5 (in case you're getting senile,) wants a Disney Princess Cinderella Barbie, and a Disney Princess Cinderella dress to dress up in when she plays. She is always cutting her sisters' hair with her preschool scissors, so I think it would be a great idea to get her one of those creepy Barbie heads with hair that she can style-maybe it would help her express her creative hairstyling urges in a more positive manner, as her sisters are running out of hair. Gwennie is in kindergarten now, and LOVES schoolwork, so a variety of school/art supplies tucked into her stocking would also be ideal!

Jennaveve, age 4 (the one who looks like a chipmunk,) wants a Disney Princess Sleeping Beauty Barbie, a Disney Princess Sleeping Beauty dress to dress up in when she plays, and matching dress up crown, necklace, and shoes. She also wants a CD of Disney Princess songs to sing along with-she loves singing and is always flitting about the house singing songs in her little chipmunk voice. Jenna is also very artsy, and just starting to read sight words. She does 'homework' at the kitchen table while Gwen does her kinder homework, so art supplies and kinder/learn to read workbooks would be really nice too!

Baby Autumn, age 28 months (yes we probably will STILL be calling her 'baby' Autumn when she's 30!) really likes Dora. She has one Dora bedtime story book that she LOVES listening to, and I recently found out there is a companion book to go with it, so i'd like to have it for her. She is starting to like baby dolls, and she loves bathtime, so I would really like to get her one of those Disney Princess bathtime baby dolls-they are SO cute! I would also like to get her a Snow White dress up set, so she can play with her older sisters. She loves being a princess, too-and she makes a darned cute one! Autumn is learning her shapes, she counts to ten, and knows a lot of her ABC's-she does 'homework' at the kitchen table when Gwen does her kinder homework, so some preschool shape/letter/number workbooks and color crayons would be great fun for her!

As for me, I don't really want or need anything-but if you could make it so that just ONE store has lithium batteries in stock before Christmas for my digital camera it would be really nice! (everywhere i've gone they're already out of stock.) Thank you for the Starbucks Santa Baby cd I got already. It has a lot of fun, old fashioned Christmas songs on it that I really like!

Wishing you Happy Holidays and a lovely New Year,

Cari

happy holidays!
