This year has been full of activity....excitement, travel, adventure, glamor, romance...you name it. In spite of the ups and downs, it was really an amazing year.
I started off 2009 by getting a new job and this week marks my one year anniversary at the company. While it isn't exactly perfect, I consider myself VERY fortunate to have anything considering our current climate. In February 2009, I attended the Academy Awards as a guest of my friend who works at the Academy. I walked the red carpet in a blue 1930s velvet evening gown right behind Robert Downey Jr. and was even on the E! Channel. That was pretty mind blowing to say the least. For Memorial Day Weekend, I went to St. Sullivan's Island in South Carolina and stayed in a 1920s beach house for a week with my parents. It was a very nice, relaxing time.
Later in the summer, I went to Paris and Tuscany. It was stunningly beautiful and an unforgettable time in my life. I also attended the Silent Film Festival in San Francisco for the 8th year. I got back together with "Ripley" in September. We have been dating for 4 months now. He took me on a vacation to the island of Malta with a brief stop over in London. We rented a scooter in Malta and wound up having an accident that left us bleeding and laying on the side of the road. While I now have a big scar on my left arm, I also have a pretty exciting story about how I got it.
I worked very hard on my cemetery tour and other projects. I finally achieved a dream I've had for 15 years....I finally got out of credit card debt. Clicking the mouse and paying the money off 100% was without a doubt one of the most triumphant moments of my entire life! I still call the credit cards just to listen to the voice say, "You have ZERO balance." Ahhhhh....music to my ears. I also paid off my car this past year as well. I think the hand of God helped to turn water into wine in my bank account. It is all nothing short of a miracle. I don't think I've ever been in this good of financial shape in my life!!!! Granted I still struggle, but the load is much lighter than it used to be. I also landed a research credit in 2 books and am now working on my own book.
I am so grateful for so many things. I'm beginning 2010 with a whole new lease on life. It all feels like a fresh start. It feels good.
