I got an early birthday present today - it was Blind Guardian's new album 'At The Edge of Time'. Now, it may have been on a CD of questionable legality and the guy was going to give it to me anyway, but, meh. XD
Haven't listened to Blind Guardian that much recently. A good 70% of their stuff is pretty mediocre, in my opinion, but there some good stuff that I enjoy. I guess I'm just not much of a heavy rock kind of guy. :\
I am wondering about the proposed Barrow Downs' meet up extravaganza in Finland next year. I'd like to go, but I cannot guarantee that I will a) have money and b) have the competence to pull off a trip abroad. I can barely plan a trip to Manchester! I wonder if we can all band together and make a special pay-pal account for us all to chip in on in case one of us gets stuck or we find we desperately NEED that signed first edition of The Hobbit... *cough*

GUESS WHAT I BOUGHT OFF EBAY!? I suggest other Downers do likewise. ;D
You can rest assured that, once it arrives, there will be many, MANY photos of crazy antics. Maybe I'll have the BW in the TARDIS or something... Any other ideas?

I found out that Ed Miliband won the Labour leadership contest. I was kind of rooting for Diane Abbot - it'd be nice for Britain to have it's first female Prime Minister (Thatcher, of course, was some sort of swamp creature bent on the destruction of the North). And also Ed Balls. For no other reason than the taglines that would flow. BRITAIN'S GOT BALLS! and HAVE YOU GOT THE BALLS FOR BALLS? and, of course, THE TORIES DON'T HAVE ANY BALLS. WE DO!
Oh the humanity!
[EDIT:
Just think of the posters!!
Yeah, sorry about that. It's very childish. But it's still funny. :p
And finally...
BOW TIES ARE COOL
And so are cat badges. :D
This is from a documentary on the Caves of Androzani special edition, which is coming out next week. MUST SEE THIS!
