Fantastic stuff in the land of Doctor Who today! :D
The story didn't make a lot of sense, it was a bit of a rushed ending, but otherwise it was great writing. I love Eleven! I like the naivety and almost childish wonder he seems to have at everything. It makes me happy to think that, even after 908 years, he can still be wide-eyed and curious. It makes him very 'alien', which is what Moffat said was what he was going for.
So, the Lodger...
A lot of good bits. "Here, have some rent. There's probably a bit much there. Don't spend it all on sweets, unless you like sweets, I like sweets!" JELLY BABY TIEM! XD
"I have one of those faces. People can't stop blurting out their plans in front of me."
"Where's the on switch for this?" *waves normal screwdriver*
"Can I put you on hold, I want to eat biscuit!"
This was an episode where Eleven became his own Doctor and showed just why this story works for him and not Ten. I cannot imagine Ten doing the things he did or acting the way he did. It would be SO BORING with Ten because he's too normal already. (Yes, I am aware that this was based on a comic strip about Ten staying with Mickey, but it was so out of character for him). With Eleven, that sort of cluelessness works!
BOW TIES ARE COOL!
And, of course... THE PANDORICA OPENS! ZOMG!! :O
Cybermens, Daleks, Silurians, Sontarons, Horix, Sycorax, Jdoon, Romans, Sliveen and Rassilon knows what else! Oh, and River Song.
A Goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior. The most feared thing in the cosmos. Drenched in the blood of galaxies. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear your world apart.
So many have said 'IT ARE THE DOCTOR' already I don't feel I need to.
It's be a neat twist if it were Amy, though. Little Amelia Pond comes walking out of the Pandorica and says 'boo!' and the TARDIS asplodes and the Doctor melts. Then the Cybermens hail her as some sort of god. And River Song eats cake. And King Yakarnos appears and struts around, louder than Christ. Then Adric appears and everyone runs away.
Ahem. Anyway...
I got the Kameleon Tales today. Planet of Fire and the Kings Demons. Woot! :D
