(I never answered your question about whether I prefer them yellow or grey and ephemeral. As this is a virtual bunch, it could be either or even both at the same time...)
You're plenty creative and have a lot to offer fandom. I do not think you come across as elitist at all in that post. You speak from the heart, and I'm keenly aware of your feelings of being dismissed there, but it's that particular corner of Tumblr fandom, not the whole of it. That particular corner is a tough nut to crack. And, er, I'm not sure I would really want to.
Thanks. From where I stand, though, I'm not sure I perceive the same separate corners as you do. From my POV it's all kind of one monolithic thing that doesn't care a jot for my existence (I never had people on tumblr contact me to praise my work, or any suggestion that tublr-based folk are aware of anything I've done, nor any responses to, well, anything I've ever posted there save from folk I know from outside tumlbr...and there's other stuff I could whinge about too, but I won't belabor it). But really it's kinda my own fault, since I know this always triggers me, I tumblr saviored most of it, but I go back and look anyway whenever others talk about the site. =P
Oh, I don't think you're elitist, nor do I think what I read on your link came through that way either. And, quite frankly, you have a solid background in Tolkien which, who knows, many of them may not have. Pande's comment below is interesting and probably right on the money. Yes, it may be a corner out there, but is it really worth the trouble of cracking into it?
*hugs* You certainly don't deserve to be depressed over this! You're worth ten of any of them!
Thank you for your supportive words. To clarify a bit, the point where I became concerned I'm sounding like an elitist about tumblr-based fandom came out of another discussion where I was being kind of virtriolic, truth be told. I really only get vitriolic when I feel threatened or rejected, not when I feel superior, but I'm not sure that that would be at all evident to people who don't know me.
Hear hear...It's caused way more angst in my life than it needs to and I really need to stop bothering with it (I don't suppose it would surprise anyone to know I'm the type of person who can't resist poking at canker sores with my tongue). Apparently tumblr savioring related terms wasn't enough, and I just need to keep my nose out of discussions concerning it on here as well.

Let's just say I've almost decided to stop complaining about Tumblr on here because the comments revolve around that and I just want to move on.
