I am so enjoying being home!
Ryan and I have found some work in town. We are feeling it out right now to see how steady it seems to be, and then we'll assess whether it is feasible for us to stay home forever, or not. Ryan is acting as though this is permanent, which excites me terribly. But I'm trying my best not to get my hopes up and we shall see over the next few months what happens.
Regardless, we were told to expect at least 3 months before we'd have to go out again anyway, so it is perfect timing.
We are also finally getting our arses in gear and actually dealing with our tax debt. It's very much like ripping off a bandaid. Painful, but relieving.
Now aside from our boring business.... I effing love it here! I have never appreciated where I live more than I do right now. Every day that I've been home, I've said, "I love it here!". I'm constantly amazed and humbled at the beauty surrounding us each day we've been home.
And aside from where I am.... I've also been surrounded by amazing, brilliant and beautiful people! And even met some new and fantastic ones along the way.
What else can I say? Things have not felt this fantastic for a very long time...
I look forward to so much. I can't wait to see Gary and start working on the farm again. I really hope they're at the market tomorrow!!!
(Sorry for the possible disjointedness of this post, I've too much stuff floating about in my head to make it come out in a good order)
Some of what we've been doing since we've been home... which has been approximately 2 weeks..... is a lot of birthday parties.
Ryan, his papa, sister, dad, and nana have all had birthdays in the past few weeks. Suffice it to say we are all extremely tired of cake and hope not to see any for a while.... unless it's really really good.... okay I lied, I really couldn't say no to one, as long as it wasn't premade at some grocery store or something.
Aside from birthdays, I've spent a lot of fantastic time with my mom, and spent a day with Felice, Mickey, and Eli.
I also got my hair cut last night, which feels really good! Almost all of the crappy old dyed ends are gone!
I've spent days cleaning, and dancing, gardening, cooking and eating fresh fantastic local food, and just plain bumming around!
Yard work! lots of it! The lawn was up to my knees!
