Well, today was King of Hearts Day. I thought it was a great idea. Every school needs to have a day where boys are actually encouraged to harass girls in the hallway, and then rewarded for it. You see, all of the girls in the school got these paper hearts in the morning (I had lots of spare time in Spanish, so I made mine pretty!) that we had to wear around our necks, and the boys had to try to get as many hearts has possible. The rules were that girls couldn’t talk to, laugh, smile, or in anyway acknowledge any boy in between classes and at lunch. I mean, you can look at a guy, but that was pretty much it. It was hard! Especially as the day went on, when guys got more and more crazy. I was walking to class from lunch with Brynn when we got surrounded and cornered by a big group of boys. They all tried to tickle us to get us to laugh at them, so I just threw myself on the floor and curled up in a ball and Brynn jumped on top of me. I mean, our AD walked by when this was happening and just laughed! Yeah, I guess I could see the humor in it too. I mean, what’s not funny about two young girls being brutally terrorized by a large mob of boys? Ha ha…
But you know what? I STILL HAVE MY HEART! So there!
And then we got the announcement about colors for Valentine’s Day on Monday. You’re supposed to wear red if you’re in a relationship or in love, pink if you have a crush, white if you’re single and looking for love, purple if you’re special friends with someone (Which I thought was insanely hilarious), and black if you’ve had your heart broken and are never going to love again. Jordan and I decided that we’d wear black, because I’ve pretty much given up on guys for a while after the whole messy cheating boyfriend incident (Countdown to D-Day=1 Day), and Jordan just because she hates Valentine’s Day and thinks it’s incredibly overrated. I think we’re just trying to be difficult.
You know, I used to really love Valentine’s Day. Why couldn’t The Jerk wait until AFTER the day of love to cheat on me? So inconsiderate…
Let’s see, what else happened today? We had to walk to Girl Scouts tonight, which pissed me off considerably. I was wearing heels! Bonnie called last night to let me know about the meeting, but she forgot to let us all know that we’d be walking. And she ALSO didn’t tell us that we’d have to walk with CHRIS. You know, I’ve had a little while to get used to the idea of them dating, but come on. It’s still GROSS. Can’t stand that kid. Jordan and Whitney weren’t very happy about the whole situation either, so we sent everyone else ahead while they came with me out to Mom’s car so that I could change my shoes. Amelia stayed back with us too, but she didn’t really contribute to the bitch train. We dawdled the entire way, bitching about random things and stuffing our faces with Jordan’s chips left over from the Spanish fiesta. It was great fun, except the bottoms of my pants and my shoes got all wet…We made a bunch of cards at the meeting. I really like mine. I just have to find someone special enough to send them to!
I think I’m done here. Got to go get ready for the voodoo ceremony!
XOXO
Abby
P.S. Thought I'd post two random pictures from school. No, they weren't taken on the same day, even though I'm wearing the same shirt. Life's just funny like that, isn't it?
